About the position

PayPal is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Scientist to join the Global Machine Learning team, focusing on the development of AI-driven solutions that enhance customer experiences across various platforms including PayPal, Venmo, and BrainTree. The role involves designing and implementing advanced machine learning models to optimize product recommendations and personalize user interactions, ultimately improving the customer journey.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced ML models to solve critical business problems related to product recommendations and customer experiences.
• Design and deploy scalable generative AI solutions as part of the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance PayPal's customer experience through ML/AI solutions.
• Communicate complex concepts and model results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Masters degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience or PhD with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in Recommendation, Ranking, Product, and Marketing domains is a plus.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like Tensorflow and PyTorch.
• Experience with GCP/Hadoop and big data is an advantage.
• Proven track record of leading ML projects and delivering solutions efficiently.
• Experience shipping real-time models is a plus.
• Fluent spoken and written English communication skills.
