About the position

The Staff Applied Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer role at Recruiting from Scratch involves significant expertise in modeling, statistics, and programming. This position is hybrid in Seattle, WA, and focuses on collaborating with engineering and product teams to design, build, and productionize proprietary machine learning models to address various business challenges such as smart bidding and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to understand business priorities and frame machine learning problems.
• Architect machine learning solutions and build production-grade machine learning models, including data preparation and processing pipelines.
• Contribute to maintaining a high-quality codebase with comprehensive testing, including load testing, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Research emerging technologies and trends, prototype new modeling ideas, and conduct offline and online experiments.
• Share knowledge through presentations, tech talks, and by promoting engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• PhD in Machine Learning or Deep Learning is a significant advantage.
• 5+ years of experience in developing production-grade machine learning systems, preferably in Ads.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, Golang, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with Bayesian methods, Reinforcement learning, Deep learning architectures, and recommendation systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Kubeflow, TFX, and Feature Store in a production environment is a significant plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in machine learning applications for Ads or eCommerce is a big plus.
• Strong communication skills and a proven track record of contributions across teams.
