About the position

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will play a crucial role in an AI fintech startup, focusing on building production-ready machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to enhance financial platforms. This position involves close collaboration with stakeholders and direct reporting to the CEO, providing an opportunity to influence technical direction and grow into a thought leader role within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Build novel machine learning and LLM models to support new and existing platforms in finance.
• Report directly to the CEO and collaborate on technical direction.
• Own the development of new Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and work with the Machine Learning Engineering team to put them into production.
• Implement and design code for production using various machine learning and LLM techniques.
• Utilize millions of pages of data per project to enhance model performance.

Requirements

• 7-8 years of commercial experience in building production-ready machine learning models.
• Experience working in a startup environment is preferred.
• Fluency in Python, particularly with TensorFlow and PyTorch for production-grade work.
• Commercial experience in building novel AI platforms with large datasets is preferred.
• Cloud experience, particularly in AWS, is preferred.
• History of working on models from concept (research) to production (end-to-end).
• Familiarity with advanced machine learning approaches related to large language models (LLMs).
• Experience in settings where multiple roles are required.
• History of partnering with non-technical stakeholders is a plus.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
