About the position

Intuit is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join its AI team. This role involves collaborating with data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models at scale, utilizing advanced data science tools and techniques. The engineer will be responsible for data preparation, feature engineering, and model testing, while also engaging with cross-functional teams to communicate results and explore new technologies that enhance customer benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Discover data sources, gain access, clean, and prepare data for machine learning.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to create and refine features and build pipelines for model training and deployment.
  • Partner with data scientists to design and implement machine learning algorithms.
  • Conduct regular A/B tests, perform statistical analysis, and evaluate the impact of models.
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to communicate results.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning and data science.
  • Proficient in data science tools and frameworks such as Python, Scikit, NLTK, Numpy, Pandas, TensorFlow, Keras, R, Spark.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning techniques including recommendation systems, classification, regression, and clustering.
  • Understanding of machine learning principles including training and validation.
  • Familiarity with data query and processing tools like SQL.
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and writing production-ready code.
  • Experience deploying scalable software for millions of users.
  • Knowledge of GPU acceleration technologies like CUDA and cuDNN.
  • Experience integrating applications with cloud technologies such as AWS and GCP.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
