About the position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care, which includes direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort of patients. This role requires a graduate from an approved school for professional nursing and a current license as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. The Registered Professional Nurse acts as a health care team leader, ensuring the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the nurse directs and guides patient teaching and the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients.
- Conduct assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Lead the health care team in delivering patient-centered care.
- Guide patient teaching and the activities of ancillary personnel.
- Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and unit-specific scope of practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- CPR certification is required.
- Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations.
- Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
