About the position

The Staff Nurse, RN at Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to a designated group of patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as collaborating with medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will develop individualized care plans, document patient progress, and engage in patient education and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients.
  • Establish goals and priorities for nursing care.
  • Develop written nursing care plans including patient education and discharge planning.
  • Document care provided and patient progress accurately.
  • Collaborate with medical staff regarding patient care.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period.
