About the position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care, which includes direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort of patients. This role requires a graduate of an approved school for professional nursing and a current license as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. The Registered Professional Nurse acts as a health care team leader, ensuring the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the nurse directs and guides patient teaching and the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and health maintenance for patients.
• Teach and counsel patients regarding their health and care plans.
• Plan and implement nursing interventions based on patient assessments.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Direct and guide the activities of ancillary personnel.
• Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and unit-specific scope of practice.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
• CPR and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC and PALS certification required within one year.
• Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Must possess adequate sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in nursing; BSN preferred.
• Two years of previous medical/surgical or ED experience preferred.
• IV experience preferred.
