About the position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care, which includes direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort of patients. This role requires a graduate from an approved school for professional nursing and a current license as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. The Registered Nurse functions as a healthcare team leader, ensuring the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and health maintenance for patients.
- Teach and counsel patients and their families.
- Plan and implement nursing care based on patient assessments.
- Evaluate patient care and outcomes.
- Lead healthcare teams in delivering patient-centered care.
- Float to different units as required, including medical/surgical and Mother Baby Unit.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
- CPR certification required.
- Minimum one year of medical/surgical experience required.
- At least one year of pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to organize workload and delegate non-nursing tasks.
- Ability to effectively educate/instruct individuals and small groups.
- Positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to provide family-focused patient care.
Nice-to-haves
- BSN preferred.
- Neonatal resuscitation program certification and/or PALS certification preferred.
- Willingness to acquire and maintain competency in routine mother/baby nursing.
