About The Position

Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is seeking a 2nd shift Pharmacist to join their team in Frederick, MD. This specialized pharmacy focuses on processing and dispensing prescriptions for multiple retail locations, utilizing automation to ensure fast and accurate service. The role is crucial in supporting retail pharmacies, allowing them to dedicate more time to clinical services and community education. The position requires onsite presence and involves a rotating schedule, including weekends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, or Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Willingness to gain and maintain additional pharmacist state licenses/permits/trainings.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a closed-door pharmacy setting.
• Experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital or retail environment.
• Familiarity with automated medication counting machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual verification of prescriptions to ensure clinical and legal accuracy.
• Assist in managing patient medication therapy and service coordination.
• Troubleshoot prescriptions by correcting legal, clinical, financial, and physical filling issues.
• Provide direction and guidance to pharmacy technicians in managing pharmaceutical equipment and inventory.
• Maintain and track medication inventory, ensuring stock rotation and processing recalls.
• Demonstrate expertise in developing and improving action plans to meet customer and business needs.
• Support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders and monitoring progress.
• Model compliance with company policies and support ethical standards.
