About the position

The Staff Pharmacist position at Havenwyck Hospital is a per diem role responsible for ensuring the accurate filling of medication orders, overseeing technician-prepared products, and maintaining the security of the pharmacy. This role involves training new staff, updating the Director on pharmacy activities, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy. The position offers flexible hours, working up to 19 hours per week, with no regularly scheduled hours, making it ideal for those seeking part-time work in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders with accuracy.
• Check technician-prepared products before release.
• Maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances.
• Enter orders and patient information accurately.
• Aid in the training of new staff.
• Update the Director about daily activities of the pharmacy.
• Assist the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.

Requirements

• Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Current Pharmacist license in good standing in Michigan.
• Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred.
• Experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting.
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a psychiatric or substance abuse facility.
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems.
