About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist at Safeway Inc. is responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy, including processing prescriptions, counseling patients, and managing medication safety. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy or related
• Washington State Pharmacist License with no disciplinary record
• Willingness to perform immunizations, with training available
• Legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operation of the pharmacy
• Take oral prescriptions over the phone
• Transfer prescriptions into and out of the pharmacy
• Process prescriptions
• Counsel patients regarding over-the-counter and prescription medications
• Select appropriate medications
• Compound prescriptions
• Review drug utilization and monitor drug interactions
• Resolve third party insurance billing issues
• Order and receive daily stock orders
• Ring up merchandise and prescriptions
• Immunize patients
