About the position

The Staff Pharmacist position at the CU Health Center Pharmacy is a part-time role focused on managing pharmacy operations, providing clinical services, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The pharmacist will dispense prescriptions, counsel patients, and support pharmacy students while maintaining a high standard of customer service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pharmacy operations, including dispensing, counseling, inventory, personnel, and security, with a focus on customer service.
  • Review and interpret physician orders, monitor for drug therapy issues, and advise on drug interactions.
  • Enter and process medication orders using PioneerRx software.
  • Coach team members to meet performance standards and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, functional work environment and report equipment issues.
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring prompt, courteous customer service.
  • Precept CPHS pharmacy students as needed.
  • Direct technician workflow, verify orders, and ensure accurate labeling and charges.
  • Provide pharmacological advice to healthcare professionals and counsel patients on therapies and devices.
  • Administer immunizations and supervise students in immunization delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding medication dispensing.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of an ACPE accredited immunization training program (e.g. APhA).
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and/or supervisory skills.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.
  • Familiarity with PioneerRx.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication.
