About the position

The Vanderbilt Outpatient Pharmacy (TVC) is seeking a staff pharmacist to provide leadership in medication preparation, dosing, and patient-specific drug information. This role involves ensuring the safe and effective use of medications across various service lines, including retail, transplant, specialty, discharge, and mail-order. The pharmacist will also play a key role in preventing medication errors and fostering quality relationships with healthcare professionals and patients.

Responsibilities

• Reviews drug orders and/or prescriptions to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
• Provides outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related problems.
• Prepares and dispenses medications, provides drug information and manages medication therapy in accordance with regulations and hospital policy.
• Supervises the activities of assigned support personnel and verifies the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared by support personnel.

Requirements

• LIC-Pharmacist License - Tennessee
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in outpatient pharmacy settings
• Knowledge of medication management and therapy
• Ability to mentor and coach less experienced colleagues
