About the position
The Staff Pharmacist at Actalent is responsible for interpreting prescriptions, providing patient and prescriber counseling, supervising pharmacy technicians, and ensuring quality control in the pharmacy operations. This role supports pharmacy management in fulfilling the pharmacy's mission and is crucial in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Interpret prescription orders and input them into the computer system.
- Advise patients and doctors about our products.
- Check compounding formulas and update lot and expiration dates.
- Perform final checks on all prescriptions.
- Supervise technicians.
- Perform initial interpretation of prescriptions.
- Verify that the prescription was entered into the computer against the hard copy.
- Accept verbal orders from voicemail, IVR, and direct phone contacts.
- Answer phones as needed.
- Monitor compliance with procedures.
- Follow all state and federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- PharmD degree
- Prior authorization experience
- Customer service skills
- Registered Pharmacist in Arizona
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good math skills

- Experience with compounding
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a federally regulated facility
- Strong chemistry background
- Strong non-sterile compounding experience
- Technical writing skills for writing Standard Operating Procedures
