About the position
The Staff Pharmacist at Walmart plays a crucial role in patient care by engaging with customers, advocating for their health, and utilizing their clinical expertise. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients, and participating in outreach events, all while maintaining compliance with regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide pharmaceutical care to customers, including processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders.
- Counsel customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and documentation.
- Administer immunizations and other health programs as developed by Walmart.
- Model and provide guidance to pharmacy staff on customer service approaches.
- Understand business operations, including inventory control and cost savings for patients.
- Use tools and data to understand community health concerns and stay updated on urgent health issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree, or equivalent FPGE (NABP).
- Pharmacy license (by job entry date).
- Completion of an ACPE Accredited Immunization training program.
