About the position

The Staff Product Designer for Design Systems at DoorDash will lead the visual evolution of the design system, ensuring alignment with DoorDash's visual identity across all product touchpoints. This role bridges product and brand, advocating for innovative technologies to keep the design system fresh and inspiring. The designer will work closely with the Senior Manager of Design Systems and will have a hybrid work schedule, spending 1-2 days a week onsite.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the design system to maintain a cohesive, engaging user experience.
• Provide creative direction for evolving the system across visual design, motion, and animation.
• Promote consistency and quality across design elements, ensuring adherence to design principles and brand guidelines.
• Improve the visual craft bar across the design organization.
• Mentor product designers on visual design, brand alignment, and new design solutions.
• Collaborate with the in-house creative agency to innovate on behalf of users.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product/brand design, with a background in art direction or branding and identity.
• 3+ years of experience in design systems.
• Broad range of experience as a designer, integrating new technologies into daily work.
• Ability to guide and mentor designers in creating visually compelling, brand-aligned product experiences.
• Experience in pixel-perfect execution and cohesive visual storytelling.
