About the position

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager for the Customer Digital Identity team to advance the way we empower internal teams with best-in-class customer data products and platform at scale. This role is designed for a product leader who is motivated by complex purposeful challenges and has a history of leading an effective product development team. The Staff Product Manager will lead the strategic efforts in extending our Customer Data Platform for internal Walmart teams such as Marketing, Walmart Connect, Data Ventures, and Walmart +. The Customer Digital Identity team is at the heart of all we do at Walmart, amplifying customer centricity by deepening the company's understanding of customers and their preferences. By doing so, we can serve them when and how they need. The Customer Digital Identity organization is enabling the company to better understand who the Walmart customer is while ensuring streamlined processes, security, scalability, regulatory compliance, and best-in-class customer experience. As the nation's largest omnichannel retailer, Walmart puts the customer first, using its resources to create meaningful connections between customers and partners, expanding and enriching our ecosystem for everyone's benefit. The role will involve leading the development and execution of the customer digital identity product strategy, focusing on audience generation to improve reach and enhance customer experience. The Staff Product Manager will define and communicate a customer segmentation and activation strategy, ensuring tools are built and scaled to support the security and integrity needs of internal teams in managing customer digital identities. This position requires a data-focused mindset to connect internal users to the Customer Digital Identity Platform, ensuring all internal teams have access to secure and comprehensive customer identity information. The role also involves defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success, emphasizing the effective management and protection of customer digital identities. Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements in customer digital identity, segmentation, and activation will be crucial for identifying opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the customer digital identity product strategy, focusing on audience generation for improving reach and customer experience.
  • Define and communicate a customer segmentation and activation strategy, prioritization, and timelines for the Customer Digital Identity Platform.
  • Ensure tools are built and scaled to support the security and integrity needs of internal teams in managing customer digital identities.
  • Operate with a data-focused mindset to connect internal users to the Customer Digital Identity Platform, ensuring access to secure and comprehensive customer identity information.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success, emphasizing the management and protection of customer digital identities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in customer digital identity, segmentation, and activation, identifying opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with Walmart Connect, Data Ventures, Walmart +, personalization, and Marketing teams to deliver world-class digital identity solutions with a strong emphasis on data security and customer privacy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA is a plus.
  • 6+ years in Product Management, including at least 2 years of experience working in customer identity.
  • Retail industry experience is a plus.
  • Quantitative or technical background is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to deliver results.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful product roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market trends in the retail space.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • 6 years' experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines.
