About the position

We are currently seeking a Staff Product Manager for Customer Experience, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision for our customer interactions, including onboarding, quoting, referrals, and telematics. This position is integral to our mission of delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving profitable growth. As the Staff Product Manager, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, analysts, designers, and fellow product managers to develop innovative solutions that enhance our customer experience. The ideal candidate will align closely with our product vision, possess an analytical mindset, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit to identify product-market fit. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives, identifying opportunities, and delivering solutions that unlock customer value. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be required to lead effectively across various functions. This role reports directly to the Director of Product and involves regular interactions with executive leadership, including our founder and CEO. The salary range for this position is between $147,800 and $203,300, reflecting our commitment to attracting top talent.

Responsibilities

  • Grow our direct channel through building superior product experiences, leveraging our unique data science capabilities and mobile technology.
  • Partner with research and design to better understand customer needs for your strategic product area.
  • Advocate for solving our customer needs throughout the product development process.
  • Work across product, operations, user experience design, analytics, and core engineering teams to identify the highest-leverage customer and business problems in and around your specific product area.
  • Create, manage, and adapt the operating plan and product roadmap.
  • Lead a team of engineers to drive the full product lifecycle, spanning ideation, design, implementation, testing, and iteration.
  • Maintain continuous discovery and evaluation of new ideas, insights, and feature candidates.
  • Write product requirement documentation (PRDs) that drive alignment between the business strategy and the engineering plans.
  • Cultivate a product area backlog with ruthless prioritization using product frameworks.
  • Manage dependencies between product areas and find creative ways to bring products to market.
  • Facilitate team delivery events using agile delivery practices.
  • Understand the health of your product area with data and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience; direct to consumer experience a plus.
  • Experience driving growth and retention through superior B2C product experiences.
  • Excellent test and learn practices that drive measurable results for the business.
  • Product domain expertise spanning the customer discovery, planning, and product development process; deep understanding of customer-centric product practices.
  • Highly analytical; excel at leveraging customer research and analytics to drive product decisions; hands-on experience using SQL and Python recommended.
  • Superior problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Detail-oriented; ability to multitask and prioritize projects while ensuring organizational alignment.
  • Roll-up-the sleeves work ethic and 'do-what-it-takes' attitude to efficiently execute and drive for results in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills; naturally collaborative, excelling at influencing without direct authority.
