About the position

The Staff Product Manager at EDB is responsible for driving the development of complex, data-intensive products tailored for enterprise customers. This role involves collaborating across various functions within the company, understanding customer feedback, and ensuring the engineering team has a prioritized backlog of features. The position emphasizes the integration of modern database technologies and AI into product offerings to enhance capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally within EDB, collaborating with engineering, marketing, sales, and other functions to take ideas from ideation to production.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and incorporate it into the product vision while effectively promoting EDB's offerings.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering peers to deliver the product roadmap.
  • Ensure the engineering team has a prioritized backlog of features with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Support the Sales team by working with product marketing and enablement to prepare for new releases.
  • Adopt an inquisitive, innovative, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Lead initiatives that utilize modern database technologies, including NewSQL and NoSQL, to build scalable data platforms.
  • Drive the integration of AI and emerging technologies into product offerings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success as a product manager for complex, data-intensive offerings with enterprise customers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex topics and summarizing for different audiences.
  • Solid understanding of modern product management principles and product development processes.
  • Strong grasp of database fundamentals, including types, uses, and features of databases.
  • Experience with modern database technologies such as NewSQL and NoSQL, and building data platforms.
  • Ability to think creatively to bring innovative solutions involving AI and newer technologies into the product landscape.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA with a technical undergraduate degree is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of the Postgres ecosystem and experience managing Postgres.
  • Knowledge of open-source software (OSS) and OSS communities, with a preference for familiarity with Postgres.
