About the position

As part of Walmart Connect, you will be instrumental in building industry-defining omni-channel ad platforms at scale. This role focuses on enabling Walmart suppliers to reach shoppers with relevant ads and high-performing campaigns, enhancing the shopping journey for customers. The Staff Product Manager for the Store Ads Platform will play a pivotal role in reimagining how advertisers connect with customers in stores. The ideal candidate will help Walmart store customers build their baskets by providing contextual ad recommendations through the Store Mode App and digital screens in-store. In this position, you will be responsible for defining the customer and advertiser experience for the Store Mode App and digital screens by collaborating with store leadership, operations, and merchant teams. You will develop and enhance products by managing product roadmaps, aligning business and technical needs, analyzing customer and product data, and turning customer insights into actionable initiatives. Additionally, you will determine rollout strategies and manage risks while working closely with engineering and Walmart partners to define data requirements and measurement methodologies. Your role will also involve working with the design team and researchers to define user experience, conducting industry and competitive analysis to understand emerging trends in the advertising industry, and identifying new opportunities. Customer research will be essential to define customer segments and identify needs that will inform the product roadmap. This position requires a metrics-driven approach and hands-on experience in driving product adoption, making it a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Define customer and advertiser experience for Store Mode App and digital screens by partnering with Store leadership, operations, and Merchant teams.
  • Develop and enhance products by managing product roadmaps and aligning business and technical needs.
  • Analyze customer and product data to turn insights into actionable initiatives and determine rollout strategy.
  • Work with engineering and Walmart partners to define data requirements and measurement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Design team and researchers to define user experience.
  • Conduct industry and competitive analysis to understand emerging trends in the advertising industry and identify new opportunities.
  • Conduct customer research to define customer segments and identify needs to inform product roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Communications, or related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in product management or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with Ad-Tech and Mar-Tech.
  • Experience in introducing new advertising experiences or formats on App and digital screens.
  • Experience in Self-Serve campaign management platforms and full funnel attribution.
  • Experience in Guaranteed and Non-guaranteed (Auctions) campaign delivery.
  • Ability to listen and influence cross-functional partners, lead teams, manage stakeholders, and get buy-in from leadership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and storytelling ability.
  • Execution rigor with a focus on end-to-end operations and detailed requirements for engineering.
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA is a plus.
  • Experience in writing white papers and filing patents.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
