About the position

The Staff Product Manager - Software at Qualcomm will play a crucial role in defining and promoting Qualcomm chipsets for various IoT segments. This position involves analyzing business opportunities, defining software product requirements, and driving execution while collaborating with multiple teams. The successful candidate will also be responsible for formulating long-term roadmaps and ensuring successful product lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Write software product and functional requirements considering inputs from various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define scalable architecture for IoT applications built on Android, Yocto Embedded Linux, Ubuntu, and/or Windows.
  • Define the Linux software upstreaming strategy and partner with the upstream community for compliance.
  • Define the software roadmap of features across various IoT business segments and publish commercialization plans.
  • Drive collaboration with third-party software developers to optimize software roadmaps and engineering execution strategies.
  • Make significant decisions impacting product processes and resources.
  • Understand embedded software engineering principles and software stacks based on Linux.
  • Identify market gaps through complex analyses and provide recommendations for product roadmaps.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations regarding product roadmaps and customer proposals.
  • Drive product launch strategies and identify technical marketing opportunities.
  • Validate business cases and contribute to the product roadmap aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences and negotiate with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in engineering or computer science or MBA.
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience managing complete product cycles.
  • Deep knowledge of operating systems like Android, Yocto Linux, Ubuntu, Windows IoT.
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
