As a Staff Product Manager - Technical at Databricks, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with other product managers and technical field teams to ensure that the product features we design and ship provide the best user experiences while meeting the highest performance standards. This challenging position requires you to measure both the functional and non-functional capabilities of our customers' workloads and the technologies they utilize to address them. Equipped with this analysis, you will meticulously examine the experience of fulfilling these workloads on Databricks and detail the product improvements necessary to enhance the simplicity and power of our platform. In this role, you will act as a bridge between the technical field teams and the product and engineering teams. You will ensure that the experiences of the technical field teams, particularly during Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and solution implementations, inform product decisions. Additionally, you will be responsible for presenting product improvements effectively to the field. Your impact will be significant as you leverage your technical and product expertise to identify and determine product enhancements, establish and run performance benchmarks, prioritize and work on an impactful product roadmap, and guide the product's market adoption. We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background and a deep understanding of customer needs, particularly those of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. You will need to possess domain expertise in data governance, data management, and open table formats such as Delta, Iceberg, and Hudi. Your experience in analyzing and quantifying the capabilities of different technologies at a granular level, along with proficiency in Python and SQL, will be crucial for success in this role. Furthermore, familiarity with systems design and architecture, as well as experience working collaboratively with both product and technical teams, will be essential.
