About the position

Samsara is seeking a Staff Product Marketing Manager to own the strategic narrative for our data, automation, and AI products and build productive relationships with our customer’s CIOs. This is not your typical PMM role. You’ll serve as the go-to expert on how our most senior customers think, what they care about, and how Samsara can help them lead digital transformation within complex physical operations. This role requires someone who’s both technical and a masterful storyteller—able to hold their own in a room full of CIOs and synthesize their needs into a powerful, cohesive strategy that shapes how we market our platform. You'll work across teams—from PM and Engineering to Sales and Events—and be instrumental in driving our long-term product and brand strategy with the CIO audience in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Own Samsara’s overall narrative for our data, automation and AI offering: Develop and evolve the overarching story we tell to CIOs across industries.
  • Be Samsara’s CIO expert: Build deep, trust-based relationships with CIOs, regularly meet with them, and understand how they evaluate technology decisions.
  • Support sales at the highest level: Join CIO-level sales conversations as a technical and strategic partner.
  • Drive content and event strategy: Partner with our VP of Product to develop the overall experience for CIOs and developers at flagship events.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales Engineering to ensure messaging reflects the roadmap.
  • Lead strategic workstreams: Own and execute high-leverage projects that cut across technical depth and strategic influence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Product Marketing, Solutions Engineering, or Developer Marketing roles, ideally in a deeply technical product or platform environment.
  • Proven experience engaging executive buyers, particularly CIOs or other technical decision-makers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complex ideas into strategic narratives.
  • Experience owning cross-functional workstreams and driving them to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS, Engineering, or similar); advanced degree a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • You’re able to sell technical value and answer technical questions with CIOs.
  • You’ve got a strategic mind and narrative chops—able to craft messaging that’s insightful, bold, and aligned with our business goals.
  • You’re energized by executive conversations and relationship-building.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and can lead without needing a playbook.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package.
  • Employee-led remote and flexible working.
  • Health benefits.
  • Samsara for Good charity fund.
