About the position

The Staff Product Operations Engineer role is a key player, along with Customer Operations and PCBA Vendors, in handling internal communication and ensuring a smooth transition of NPI products into Production. NPI Engineer is mainly responsible for communicating deliverables and assisting from a technical perspective. Experience with PCBA manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review design prints and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria, standards, and manufacturing capability
  • Generate project plans with key milestones for NPI Launch
  • Assist Product Operations Core Team with cross-functional communications regarding PCBA build schedules, quality metrics that impact the overall project delivery
  • Partner cross-functionally within Operations as well as with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, eliminate known issues, and reduce potential risks
  • Analyze and report on quality metrics (ex: Quality KPIs) to identify trending issues and develop improvement opportunities
  • Provide new product introduction support by facilitating problem-solving meetings with Global Internal Engineering Teams and supplier counterparts
  • Conduct Development review meetings to gain technical understanding and to assist with the DFM process
  • Coordinate and approve rework instructions for production
  • Validate and approve assembly instructions (including labels) for production
  • Ensure quality products are manufactured per customer specifications are built and meet the schedule
  • Assist in the build activity and the testing of new components in large engineering samples in the Production/Scale-up setting

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems and 5+ years of relevant experience (data analysis and or project management is preferred) or MS degree and 2+ years of experience
  • Experience in creating and managing bills of material in engineering and manufacturing
  • Keen understanding of server, PCBA development and manufacturing process
  • Understanding of rack and server-level platforms and how each component interacts with the system as a whole
  • Thorough understanding of BOM structures and of configuration management concepts
  • In-depth knowledge of the underlying ZT Process and Procedure
  • Excellent communication skills among cross-functional teams.
