About the position

The Staff Professional I position at ECS Ltd involves supporting the preparation of geotechnical reports and managing construction materials testing (CMT) projects. The role includes collaborating with senior staff to analyze and formulate recommendations, managing project budgets, and preparing invoices. The position also entails supervising fieldwork, performing in-situ testing, and assisting with various geotechnical tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of geotechnical reports including analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review.
  • Assist with resolution of issues and training of field staff on projects.
  • Manage project budgets for geotechnical and CMT projects and prepare invoices.
  • Perform boring and test pit layouts and evaluate site access.
  • Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances.
  • Conduct research on local geologic history.
  • Supervise field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues.
  • Perform in-situ testing and specialized geotechnical field testing.
  • Classify soil and assign laboratory testing.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 4 years of related experience required.
  • Certifications are required for all types of testing performed.
  • Valid driver's license required if driving for ECS.
