About the position

The Staff QA Engineer at Assured plays a crucial role in modernizing the insurance industry by leading the design and implementation of advanced testing strategies. This position focuses on ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through collaboration with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders. The role involves both automated and manual testing, process improvements, and risk assessment to maintain exceptional product quality.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the development and continuous refinement of the QA strategy, including comprehensive test planning and execution.
• Architect, implement, and maintain highly efficient automated test scripts and frameworks to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive manual testing where automation is not feasible, ensuring all features meet quality standards.
• Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure product quality.
• Track, analyze, and report on software defects, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high product quality.
• Implement performance, scalability, and stress testing to ensure software can handle expected loads.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Assess risks associated with product releases and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress), scripting languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, JavaScript), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
