The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU - Post Anesthesia Care at Cook Children's Health Care System is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care to patients and their families, focusing on their identified needs. This role emphasizes teamwork, customer relations, sound clinical judgment, and decision-making based on evidence-based practices. The position involves working three 8-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with a schedule determined after orientation.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to augment the medical plan of treatment.
• Provide care with a team-oriented approach.
• Emphasize good customer relations in patient care.
• Exercise sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or in progress towards a BSN en route to MSN.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS certification.
• PALS or NRP certification required.
