About the position

The Staff Research Associate I position at UC San Diego involves assisting in the Evaluation of the Informed Consent Process in Pediatric Oncology Clinical Trials. This role is part-time and requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. The position entails data collection, participant enrollment, and collaboration with the research team to develop a research project database, all while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Assist in capturing and maintaining data for the Evaluation of the Informed Consent Process in Pediatric Oncology Clinical Trials.
• Assist with participant enrollment and obtaining consent.
• Help in questionnaire completion in English and Spanish.
• Conduct data collection and data entry.
• Create the data collection tool in collaboration with the research team.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.
• Assist parents in completing close-ended questionnaires regarding the consent process and study enrollment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Theoretical knowledge in Public Health, epidemiology or related field.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish with experience translating documents.
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to use independent judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and accurately with attention to detail.
• Excellent writing skills and knowledge of English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Analytical skills to carry out program and project objectives.
