About the position

As an Assistant Branch Manager I at Mission Federal Credit Union, you will play a pivotal role in the operations, service, and sales activities of the branch. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment, where teamwork and adaptability are essential. You will be responsible for ensuring that operational policies and procedures are implemented effectively while utilizing prudent judgment to meet the needs of our members. Your day may start at one branch and finish at another, showcasing the true essence of teamwork within our unique Staff Resource Pool (SRP). In this role, you will provide backup support across all areas of the branch, which includes assisting with opening new accounts, processing loans (including real estate loan applications when MLO status is approved), handling teller transactions, and coaching staff. You will utilize various tools and technology to profile members and identify opportunities for cross-selling products and services. Creating a welcoming retail branch environment is crucial, as you will promote high-quality personal service to attract members and enhance cross-sell opportunities through our approved sales model. Additionally, you will represent the Branch Network by participating in Assistant Branch Manager meetings and task forces, providing valuable input on business initiatives. Ensuring the branch operates safely and effectively is paramount, and you will be responsible for training employees on safety procedures, emergency preparedness, and adherence to standard operating procedures. You may also need to complete various audit certifications and reports, acting as a resource to other branches when exceptions to operating procedures arise. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, lending, and member service, along with strong leadership skills to coach and develop employees effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize, and participate in branch operations, service, and sales activities.
  • Ensure operational policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Provide backup support in all areas of the branch, including new account openings and loan processing.
  • Utilize tools and technology to profile members for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Promote a welcoming retail branch environment with high-quality personal service.
  • Anticipate employees' and members' needs and model established service guidelines.
  • Participate in ABM meetings and task forces, providing input on business initiatives.
  • Ensure branch safety and employee training on safety procedures and emergency preparedness.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual audit certifications and reports.
  • Act as a resource to other branches for exceptions to operating procedures.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of work experience in the financial services industry, including proactive sales and lending.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand consumer credit reports and the lending process.
  • Strong human relations, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to actively cross-sell products and services.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
