About the position

The Staff RF Engineer Lead at Northrop Grumman will oversee and lead a technical team in a high-volume Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) production program. This role involves directing the team through various stages of system build and testing, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and troubleshooting flight hardware. The position is integral to the Remote Sensing Program Business Unit, contributing to innovative technologies and engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the technical team in ESA production program stages.
  • Communicate and present effectively with stakeholders including customers and program directors.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams through Failure Review Boards (FRBs), Anomaly Review Boards (ARBs), Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Troubleshoot flight hardware and test sets in collaboration with systems engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Make decisive calls on program direction and present solution paths.
  • Lead and delegate tasks effectively within the team.
  • Implement continuous improvements on processes and test plans based on requirement updates and data reviews.
  • Learn and utilize SAP System and Manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related discipline with 12 years of experience, 10 years with a master's degree, or 7 years with a Ph.D.
  • Knowledge of space program integration and testing, including flight hardware performance testing and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with ESA technology, Receiver/Exciters, Modules, and Antenna Systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware/production issues from bench to system level.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Familiarity with Mixed Signal Technology (RF, Digital, Controls).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance.
