About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ambulatory Surgery Patient Care unit is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures. This role requires clinical competence and the ability to manage the unique needs of diverse patient populations in a surgical environment. The RN will work on-site at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and is expected to demonstrate proficiency in nursing practices as outlined by the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
  • Manage the care of patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures in the Operating Room and/or GI/Bronch lab.
  • Demonstrate competency in delivering care to all patient populations.
  • Adapt nursing practices according to the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for RN licensure.
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, typically acquired through a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree.
