About the position

The Staff RN - Med/Surg position at Garden City Hospital involves providing safe and effective patient care in the Medical/Surgical Unit. The role requires utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while also guiding patient and family education. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients' clinical conditions and communicating with physicians regarding any changes. This position is part of a dedicated team committed to quality healthcare and community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
