About the position

As a Staff Robotics Software Engineer at Relativity Space, you will be instrumental in developing and integrating robotics software and hardware for a cooperative robotics platform. This role involves implementing perception systems with autonomous robots and collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate solutions that advance robotics and additive manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate robotics software and hardware for a cooperative robotics platform.
• Implement perception systems such as LiDAR, Area 3D Scanners, and Motion Capture with autonomous robots.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test innovative robotics solutions.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware issues in complex robotic systems.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in robotics software development, particularly in C++ and embedded environments.
• Experience utilizing data processing algorithms for real-time applications.
• Experience with robotics kinematics, motion control, and multi-robot coordination.
• Knowledge of robotics middleware and frameworks, such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Understanding of safety protocols and standards in industrial robotics.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with industrial robot manipulators such as KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots.
• Knowledge of robotic weld systems and processes, including programming weld paths and optimizing parameters.
• Proficiency in coordinating multiple robotic systems for collaborative tasks.
• Experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms.
