About the position

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is seeking a Transaction Manager for the Office of Human Resources. This position is classified as STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I and offers a flexible work schedule, including telework options. The DCA is located in the Natomas area of Sacramento, providing easy access to shopping and dining establishments, and is less than ten minutes from Downtown Sacramento. The role involves managing tasks related to appointments, separations, payroll, and benefits for DCA employees, ensuring compliance with California labor laws and departmental policies. The position also includes responsibilities related to advising and managing various leave benefit programs, including Workers' Compensation and State Disability Insurance. Responsibilities

  • Manage tasks associated with appointments, separations, payroll, and benefits for DCA employees.
  • Ensure compliance with California labor laws, bargaining unit contracts, and departmental policies.
  • Advise and manage various leave benefit programs, including Workers' Compensation and State Disability Insurance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to human resources functions.
  • Provide leadership and development to subordinate staff.

Requirements

  • Experience related to civil service payroll and benefits.
  • Experience related to disability and workers' compensation programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing procedures.
