About the position

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Planning & Regional Office Operations, the incumbent is responsible for the Los Angeles SCDD office operations and community-based projects, which include, but are not limited to: 1) engaging in and fully documenting collaborative partnerships and activities designed to improve supports and services for people with intellectual/developmental and/or cross-disabilities and their families, in accordance with state and federal mandates; 2) engaging in systemic advocacy, capacity-building, and systemic change activities in the development and implementation of the Council's 5-year strategic State Plan; 3) managing SCDD's federal and/or state-funded (reimbursable inter-agency agreement) program activities; 4) participating in inter-agency, regional and/or state-level committee work, including leadership of the Los Angeles Regional Advisory Committee; 5) developing engaging curriculum and training materials targeting multiple learning modalities to meet the needs of individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and other stakeholders, and, 6) managing professional and technical staff, personnel, administrative support, and fiscal management functions. This position requires travel.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the families and services which support them.
  • Knowledge and experience working within the general social service system to obtain financial benefits, housing, healthcare, and other benefits available to people on a fixed income.
  • Knowledge of various Microsoft platforms, Zoom, Qualtrics, or other data collection platforms.
