About the position

The Staff Site Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality program on construction projects, ensuring that all work is fabricated, installed, tested, and documented according to project specifications and governing codes. This role involves managing quality personnel, developing inspection plans, and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the quality program on projects to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Assist the Construction Quality Section Manager in managing and mentoring quality personnel.
  • Utilize project specifications to support successful fabrication and installation of products.
  • Support the implementation of the Construction Quality Plan and elevate issues to project leads as necessary.
  • Develop Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with the project team.
  • Review subcontractor quality submittals and Inspection and Test Plans for compliance.
  • Lead preparatory meetings to communicate quality requirements to subcontractors.
  • Monitor and inspect fabricated and installed products for compliance with specifications.
  • Manage the punch list process and perform acceptance inspections as needed.
  • Conduct weekly quality meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Recommend enhancements to the company Quality Management System.
  • Identify and document nonconformances and track them to closure.
  • Assign Welding Procedure Specifications to applicable weldments.
  • Assist in tracking welder to weld traceability.
  • Track project quality metrics and confirm project turnover deliverables.
  • Comply with safety and health requirements and monitor construction activities for adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of relevant experience in quality program management.
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced technical writing experience.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (AWS) required.
