About the position

The Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Federal) at Zscaler is responsible for overseeing operational tasks for FedRAMP cloud products, including deployments, incident management, and managing cloud infrastructure components. This role requires maintaining a Secret Security Clearance and involves contributing to DevOps best practices while ensuring the security and efficiency of cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational tasks for FedRAMP cloud products, including deployments, on-call duties, and incident management.
• Participate in regular deployment sync meetings and operational hand-offs.
• Manage all cloud infrastructure components, such as AWS GovCloud, private cloud environments, containers, and VMs.
• Develop operations documentation and handle escalations.
• Implement measures to prevent recurring incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer in an Operations or Engineering environment.
• Experience with High/Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and monthly monitoring programs.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Coding experience, preferably in Python, and expertise in container-based architectures (AWS ECS / Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of virtualization, cloud architecture, automated deployments, web security, and networking fundamentals.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with High/Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and monthly monitoring programs.
• Python coding experience.
• Experience with container-based architectures (AWS ECS / Kubernetes).
• Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification.
