About the position

Fivetran is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the performance and reliability of its Data Platform. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the robustness of the infrastructure, manage incident responses, and drive the overall stability of Fivetran's systems. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Oakland, focusing on maintaining high availability and evolving systems to meet product demands.

Responsibilities

• Monitor availability, capacity, and throughput of Fivetran's production infrastructure.
• Evolve systems by integrating reliability into the product roadmap.
• Coordinate the prioritization or resolution of critical bugs for support or sales requirements.
• Make recommendations to improve production infrastructure to ensure 100% availability.
• Automate deployment of scalable artifacts across all environments.
• Monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and collaborate with the security team to address them.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with SaaS products at scale.
• Working knowledge of managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and related tools: AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Buildkite, Pulumi, and ArgoCD.
• Experience in Python/Shell scripting; knowledge of Java and Go is a bonus.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems internals and administration.
• Experience with cloud networking technologies such as VPNs, PrivateLinks, and Private Service Connect (GCP).
• Experience with databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
