In this position, you will operate and support Coupang's database systems, which currently utilize AWS Aurora and in-house MySQL. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining the ecosystem surrounding our transactional databases, which encompasses backup and restore processes, schema management, and monitoring. You will also be tasked with automating database operations and troubleshooting any issues that arise, ensuring effective communication of root causes to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will participate in incident handling and be part of the on-call rotation, which is essential for maintaining the reliability of our systems. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in infrastructure fundamentals and extensive experience in system development from planning through implementation. Your expertise in writing automation scripts and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell will be vital. Familiarity with other programming languages, including Java, C#, Go, C++, or Rust, is also required. Understanding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps practices will further enhance your fit for this role.
