About the position

The Central Tech team at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is responsible for providing technology and security support to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CZI's engineering efforts. This role focuses on building shared technology solutions that enable various engineering teams to achieve their goals securely and efficiently. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and the cultivation of best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and security of CZI engineering.
• Work with the existing infrastructure security team and other security stakeholders to ensure impactful work for CZI.
• Design and build tools and libraries for use across multiple engineering teams.
• Evangelize and educate teams on best practices in technology and security.
• Drive impact across the company by collaborating with the Product Security team.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant coding experience.
• Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong security domain expertise.
• Proven experience designing reliable systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, and other FaaS or containerized workloads.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with containers, cloud container schedulers, and continuous deployment systems.
