The Staff Software Engineer - Data Engineering at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for designing, coding, and integrating scalable datasets to create certified datasets as enterprise-grade assets. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable datasets for enterprise-grade assets.
  • Translate business problems into data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Deliver real-time data and insights to executives using innovative methods.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration and shared success.
  • Create data models that prioritize simplicity and usability for scalability.
  • Develop certified and scalable data models that provide high business value.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover actionable insights.
  • Manage data governance, quality, and metadata management processes.
  • Tackle complex data engineering and design challenges collaboratively.
  • Stay agile and adopt new data engineering technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the data and analytics domain.
  • Expert level in writing optimized SQL code.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for GCP DataProc integrations.
  • Familiarity with B2B space and customer analytics, including data models for contracts, subscriptions, and GDPR processes.
  • Experience in building ETL processes using BigQuery data.
  • Familiarity with GCP services and deployments.
  • Experience managing code using GitHub (CI/CD).
  • Ability to execute in agile (scrum) development methodology.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
