About the position

As a Staff Software Engineer on the iOS Homepage Team at Walmart, you will lead the development and optimization of the iOS platform's homepage features, focusing on enhancing the mobile shopping experience. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, requiring a deep understanding of mobile platform challenges to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure the delivery of high-quality code, while also mentoring junior engineers and advocating for user experience improvements.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement complex features and functionalities for the iOS platform's homepage.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality code through best practices and modern development methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Identify and drive opportunities for innovation and optimization in the iOS homepage experience.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the iOS platform.
• Advocate for and implement features that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
