About the position

As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in driving major financial transformations through the implementation and management of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technologies. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on developing streamlined, dependable technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). Your work will involve collaborating with various teams to enhance service operations and technology solutions, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide. You will be responsible for driving the design, development, implementation, and documentation of cutting-edge solutions while following agile development processes. This role requires you to interact with Walmart engineering teams across different geographies, leveraging expertise and contributing to the tech community. You will also be involved in the successful implementation of technical solutions that support strategic initiatives, ensuring adherence to established practices for quality, cost, and delivery within architectural guidelines. In this position, you will be expected to follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure comprehensive testing and code coverage. You will have the opportunity to learn new and changing technologies, adapting to ensure best software practices and standards. Additionally, you will participate in hiring efforts to build strong teams and work closely with business owners and technical teams globally to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions. Your contributions will help drive efficiency across Walmart globally, enhancing the customer experience and empowering team members with innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive design, development, implementation, documentation and follow agile development process.
  • Build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • Be involved in the successful implementation by applying technical skills, to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Tech Leads/Architects and cross functional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) within the established architectural guidelines.
  • Follow TDD to ensure testing and code coverage.
  • Learn new and changing technologies and adapt to ensure best software practices and standards.
  • Participate in hiring and support to build teams.
  • Interact closely for requirements with Business owners and technical teams both within India and across the globe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/master's degree in IT, computer sciences or business with additional qualifications in technology.
  • 11 to 15 years of project solutions delivery (design/configuration) experience in SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG, S/4 HANA) solutions integrated with SAP ERP/S4, with at least one global organization.
  • Experience in rollout / implementing SAP S4 HANA master data solutions.
  • In depth understanding of Master Data Governance, Master Data Elements like Business Partners, Legal Entities, Hierarchies and integration with accounting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Consolidation and Workflow management.
  • Hands-on experience in handling large size SAP implementations for Fortune 100 clients.
  • Deep expertise to customize and configure SAP tools in addition to SAP standard functionalities.
  • Experience with SAP support and green field implementations.
  • Good understanding of integrations across enterprise landscapes: e.g. SAP, MDG.
  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams, to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions.
  • Should have worked in large scale implementations, transformation projects and played a critical role in gathering and defining requirements, FIT GAP analysis, system configurations, project planning and deliveries etc.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts/customer problems in a simple way to internal & external stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
