About the position

The Staff Software Engineer-Platform Analytics at ServiceNow is responsible for building high-quality, scalable, and reusable code while enforcing best practices in software engineering. This role involves collaborating with product owners to understand requirements, designing user-friendly software, and mentoring colleagues to promote knowledge-sharing within the team. The engineer will contribute to both new product features and enhancements to existing products, ensuring high-quality delivery to users.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes.
• Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own code from design to delivery.
• Design software that is simple to use, allowing customers to extend and customize functionality.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing products.
• Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language.
• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.
• Strong analytical and design skills.
• Ability to manage projects with material technical risk at a team level.
