Responsibilities

• Build datacenter software technologies and expertise to drive Samsung memory technologies and innovations for use in public and private clouds by leveraging the benefits of memory innovations.
• Design and develop software for a state-of-the-art distributed storage system.
• Play a key role in the design, development and optimization of the IO path within our distributed storage systems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our storage solutions deliver exceptional performance, scalability and reliability.

Requirements

• BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions in C/C++ on Linux or a MS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years or PhD in engineering or related Science with 5+ years of Industry Experience preferred.
• Linux-based Platform evaluation, creation, configuration, and maintenance in various HW and SW subsystems.
• Developing, creating, and maintaining Linux-based bootable ISO and PXE images.
• Custom kernel configurations, builds, and maintenance.
• Developing, integrating, and building third party and or custom kernel modules.
• Minimizing OS configuration and footprint.
• SW packing methods and technologies.
• Understanding of vulnerabilities and minimizing strategies, firewall, switch, router configurations.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, shell, Perl, Java, Javascript.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, SNMP.
• Familiarity with HW components like BIOS, Loader, IPMI, BMC, UEFI.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Vmware, Virtualbox, KVM, Xen.
• Experience with containers like Docker, Linux Containers (LXC), Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of clustering technologies like Zookeeper.
• Familiarity with SW Development tools like Git and agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with ELK (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana), Collected.
• Experience managing VMs in public cloud and on-prem.
