About The Position

The Staff Software Engineer will lead small groups of engineers in various engineering projects, providing direction, documentation, and support. This role involves troubleshooting production issues, leading project discovery phases, developing innovation strategies, and participating in complex cross-functional projects. The engineer will also be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating with various teams to achieve project goals.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering; OR Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus 6 years of experience.
• Experience designing and developing REST API based web-services using Java and Spring frameworks.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (Java and Python).
• Experience writing unit test cases using JUnit for Java applications.
• Experience processing high volume-low latency messages using Apache Kafka.
• Experience with large scale distributed processing databases like Hive, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Experience designing and implementing Big Data applications using Apache Hadoop or Apache Spark.
• Experience designing and implementing data engineering workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Experience deploying applications using Azure Cloud Stack.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and Linux commands.
• Experience with Git for source control management.
• Experience conducting statistical analysis and using BI applications like Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Lead the work of small groups of engineers for assigned engineering projects.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues by analyzing information and formulating action plans.
• Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to develop high-level designs.
• Develop innovation strategies and best practices by partnering with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by translating requirements into technical solutions.
