About the position

As a Staff Software Engineer at Sam's Club, you will lead the front-end engineering team responsible for the Samsclub Membership website. This role involves designing and developing membership front-end flows while collaborating with cross-platform teams. You will be part of a high-performing technical team focused on delivering high-quality web applications that enhance user experience across various devices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in projects by reviewing project requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Develop responsive web applications that provide an optimal user experience across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for all projects and processes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other team members.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the team.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information and engaging support teams for resolution.
  • Drive initiatives for engineering and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience designing and building scalable and reliable front-end applications.
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Node JS, HTML, CSS, and Redux libraries.
  • Proficient in RESTful Services and GraphQL.
  • Experience in designing and building APIs.
  • Experience working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in unit testing and functional testing.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years' experience in software engineering.
