The Staff Software Engineer role is a tech lead position at a fast-growing AI startup focused on developing innovative machine learning technology for the construction industry. The primary responsibilities include rebuilding and scaling backend infrastructure, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading the rebuilding and scaling of backend infrastructure
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Hands-on development with a focus on Python and Golang
• Full stack development with DevOps responsibilities in an AWS environment
• Managing containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
• Contributing to the development of AI/ML-driven solutions

Requirements

• Experience of commercial software engineering experience
• Full stack development and DevOps experience
• Expertise in Python and Golang
• Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Experience in AI/ML is a plus
• Previous startup experience preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Desire to grow into a future management role
