About the position

The Staff Software Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive execution of technical projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes for both internal and external customers. This role involves collaborating with functional owners to define project requirements, coordinating with technical teams, managing project risks, and ensuring adherence to project management practices. The position emphasizes effective communication with stakeholders and the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in specifying requirements
  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs
  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources
  • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge
  • Work with technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan
  • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required
  • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary
  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Strong team player with collaborative problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • Demonstrated customer focus and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Change-oriented with a focus on process improvements
  • PMP, ScrumMaster or related Project Management certifications

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technology leadership role
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in managing external vendors
