About the position

The Staff Software Security Engineer - Automation - Cloud Provisioning role at ServiceNow focuses on building and maintaining a secure cloud infrastructure for large-scale enterprise applications. This position is integral to the Cloud Platform group, ensuring performance, reliability, scalability, and high availability while supporting US Federal regulated markets. The role requires a deep understanding of security protocols and hands-on experience with Linux systems, particularly CentOS/RHEL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and maintain a platform for large-scale Enterprise Applications with 10,000+ physical hosts
  • Review and triage vulnerability findings
  • Debug and test vulnerabilities
  • Troubleshoot difficult production issues, e.g. memory leaks, network problems, and various intermittent failures across the stack
  • Utilize Linux command prompt for both administration and shell scripting

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in DevOps building and maintaining a platform for large-scale Enterprise Applications with 10,000+ physical hosts
  • Experience with using git to manage source code
  • Expert-level skills with Ruby, Chef or Puppet
  • Expert level understanding of Centos/RHEL OS and experience installing, maintaining, and designing services
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies - OpenStack, AWS, or Azure are a plus
  • Experience developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgresSQL
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and systems quickly
  • Demonstrated success working independently and as a team to complete complex projects, on time
  • Exceptional debugging, testing, and critical thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with interruptions and adapt to changing priorities within the team.
